nomad

a travel app designed in a single weekend that went on to win the genshe make-a-thon.

nomad came out of a weekend make-a-thon. it's a travel app for finding things to do wherever you are and keeping track of the places you loved: you browse experiences city by city, log and rank what you've done, and follow friends (your “nomads”) to see what they're ranking too. we had about 48 hours to take it from a sentence to a working prototype, and it won genshe make-a-thon 2025.

the whole thing was an exercise in deciding what not to build. i led design, which mostly meant cutting features faster than we could fall in love with them so we'd have something real by sunday. i designed and prototyped the whole thing in figma, from the logo and onboarding flow down to every last screen.

three nomad screens: a user profile, the activity feed, and a London experiences list the nomad logo and the Houston home screen the full nomad figma file showing loading, login, onboarding, home, feed, log, saved, and profile screens
