i enjoy making pretty, useful things and i've never met a stranger i didn't want to know. best found between a good layout and an even better conversation.

about —

i’m a senior at rice studying computer science and economics, though i found my way into design somewhat sideways.

it started when i began running instagram for pub at rice, one of the oldest student-run bars in the country. somewhere between event posters, late-night captions, and trying to make beer specials look vaguely elegant, i realized that design is really just communication with better outfits. naturally, i then built pub’s entire website for fun.

since then, i’ve designed nomad in a weekend and watched it win a make-a-thon, read deal flow at rice’s student venture fund, and led marketing there. i also coordinate beer bike for my residential college, which is essentially event design at its most chaotic and culturally sacred. last summer, i sat in on founder meetings at a venture fund in new york and came away convinced that the best companies are not just built; they are designed.

outside of that, i speak english, french, and mandarin. i’m a self-declared fromagophile, with drunken goat currently holding the crown. i’m zealous about running, walking, and being outside in nearly any capacity, and i’m on a mission to eat on every continent before i turn 25. you can follow that particular quest on beli at @lolacantillon. i’m happiest when i’m designing something, in any shape or form, especially around people i love. and i believe the most interesting problems are the ones nobody has quite designed a solution for yet.

by  just  making  it.
